I have personally read through the entire "ESB". Only a small percentage of difficult, old english, antiquated nouns, adjectives, verbs and "root" word meanings are actually defined and,the hebrew and greek transliteration and meanings given. Historical value dates and events as it relates to the particular passage and future and modern events as it pertains to fulfilled prophecy.ĬONS: The King James Text has been modified and the exlcusion of many archaic words which many believe to be expressive and authoritative. Theological insights provided by: Josephus the early Jewish Historian, Eusebius, Pulpit's, George william's, Matthew Henry's, Expositor's Notes, etc.Ī detailed explanation and commentary follows practically every verse I'll To try to summarize The "ESB" if I can here: Much of the bible as it regards to idealism which is: principle, conscience, wisdom, and of course Morals, ethics and values along with detailed prophecy throughout the old and new testament. And in addition the church reformation and throughout the ages and how the bible can apply to our lives, society and culture today. Also, extensive hebrew, greek and aramaic definitions or meanings of words, places, people, allegory, etc. I believe a true study bible would be inclusive of archaeology and history of the accounts, themes, geographical and culture portrayed. May the Lord bless you and the work.I am a student of the bible and,I love the concept of the Expositor's Study Bible. Anyway, we will pray for the Lord to use you more and more. let them do half of what you have accomplished then let them speak. I enjoy the centrality of the cross in all notes - constantly bringing the reader back to the work and effectiveness of Jesus' salvific work.

Ecclesiology sound- with great notes on the mighty baptism of the Holy Spirit and church governance. Soteriological issues are sound, except for an issue of the order of salvation. Amazing insights on eschatological issues. Must be read in conjunction with JS Commentaries to get fuller understanding of expositional notes. Every preacher must have a copy without which your library is in lack for certain. A few years ago, I read it cover to cover and it enhanced my growth in biblical knowledge to a large degree. Quick referencing to get better understanding.

If as a Christian, you want a solid biblical foundation- this bible has to be part of your growth.
